Go underground for the deepest large pipe rehab using FRP yet

You like going deep on topics. You also like trenchless. Now you can go deep with the most effective trenchless repair available to large conveyance engineers and practitioners with the new project video from the team at PipeMedic® by QuakeWrap.

A leaking, eroded storm tunnel under Minnesota’s I-35 and I-94 highway junction had several distinctive challenges, including its location: up to 100 feet below downtown Minneapolis.

For this repair, the more economical StifPipe® was proposed in lieu of a conventional carbon-fiber-only design. Despite the high loads required, the total thickness for the StifPipe® design was only 1.47 inches.

The I-35 tunnel repair project still holds the record for deepest application of an FRP system for fully-structural pipe/tunnel rehabilitation.
